What this is

Before anyone can sell a medical device in the US, whether that is a knee implant, an ultrasound machine or a dental tool, the FDA has to approve it first.

The FDA publishes every approval it grants. This collects them, so you see each one within days of it landing.

Why it is a hiring signal

The day the approval clears, the company flips to manufacturing and selling, and needs people it does not have yet:

• production staff
• quality and regulatory people
• sales reps
• clinical specialists to train hospitals
• field engineers to service the units
